Prison Poem by abu tarek md tahsin

Prison

The darkness invades
my breath
and strikes horror
in my bones.

prison
is my chilling afternoon
pain.

prison
makes me sweat
and my thoughts
seep through its walls
and walk to freedom.

In this cold cell room
i have no memory
i have no mercy
from the mesmerizing beauty
of the sunset blinking through
the hole in the wall.

as the tears run dry
and the horror makes itself heard
echoing on to the vales of despair.

I scream and lurch
in quiet madness
and recall all the days
that had not come since.

I all the while
dream of you
your thoughts wander
in this dingy black cell room

and i wash ashore
in your sweet memory
of open blue sky
and dusty winding roads

and you are
the dream of the dreamers
the flower of the wise
the fruit of the gods
and tonight i call you
Freedom!
