Pride Of May Poem by Minerva Agriam

Pride Of May

The bright sun comes and shines today;
To lure the shy naked seeds to sprout;
Bringing their young prettiness to light;
Making the expectant farmer gaze with delight.

The little field that has been barren;
Now full of little bushes of green and violets;
New colors of any choice you could find;
Brushing up your hands with their blooming petals.

The nesting birds now sweetly sing,
For a brood of four has been newly born;
And an inching fat greenish worm
Gleefully causes a triumphant hideaway.

A little young blue butterfly emerges;
From an ugly pupa she freed herself;
Joining the colorful bunch of yellowbells;
Sucking the sweet nectar to her liking.

In all the mornings this month of May;
One can take many surprises with glee.
Sunbathing kids in all ages see;
A beauty showered by the month of May.
