It is a great poem with declarative sentences.By using rhetorical adjectives as epithets like: 'late afternoon', 'inquisitive moon', '.vociferous press'and.comparisons like: .'inquisitive moon, like an aggressive and ferocious big cat'the author puts in evidence the character. There are used visual and mixed metaphor like; 'the air changes from clear to blue and from blue to purple.'., 'solving hieroglyphic equations', 'the sun burns the angels of the afternoon' in order to bring the necessary contrast. There are used antithesis like: 'Understand your natural common sense, and admire your courage', auxesis like: 'Belligerent dictators are going to start war, Devious militants are going to format terroristic acts, ' in order to complete the presidential image. The poet is a meticulous painter who wants a perfect player.(painting) .A great poem for my little 10++

A very astute observation that others as of yet have not come full circle to realize. Some would rather point and assimilate to the idea that this new President is the Antichrist, or some other mad rantings. A great write and God bless everyone, even those in office-MJG.

So much thought has gone into this great piece. The job seems almost impossible, and we in other countries as Australia look to some (what will have to be long term) solution. Thank you for this poem Herbert.. 10 Karin Anderson

Many think once a post is won the fight is over, but, you've beautifully captured and potrayed the responsibilities and travails attached to it. The latter part of the poem also reminded me of the famous American Declaration, 'In God We Trust'. We trust along with you Sir, that the President will be gaurded, guided and led by God!

i don't know, I think this is more or less and essay, summarizing the 100 days in the White House (Obama) . Or is it some kind of a prayer. Anyway, whatever it is, the author is serious, very sincere in his thoughts. Over all impression - well written.

This is a very interesting and well thought out dissertation on Obama's first one hundred days. Whether or not it can be regarded as a poem is problematic. To my mind the last few lines are the poem hidden within the prose (and exceptional, by the way) . 'While the honeymoon Is going on And even after the sun Burns the angels of the afternoon.' The rest is more of a preamble. I concur with your sentiments though and applaud your words. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Herbert, I wish your president God speed in his task to improve our world. It always amazes me why when we have a man of good intentions, others try to shoot him down. Bob
