I really like your poem as it fuses a number of images into a single imagery of sort.. Water is always associated with life, so is sun.. But here, I feel, the twilight sun symbolises a kind of power that is working towards destruction. The image of the 'red sea' is an apt one.. Blood being poured out of a champange bottle (¿¿) - perhaps suggestive of the kind of near sadistic pleasure that is often derived from war by a number of people.. Hitler, for one, might have actually 'enjoyed' killing the Jews.. Bloodshed is often celebrated.. The vultures do roam over dead bodies in a battlefield. And now I feel I understand your metaphor of the 'setting sun'.. It is perhaps continually eroding human values and humanity.. As the human in us dies the SHAITAN comes out.. And then there is only one way to proceed - towards more bloodshed and destruction.. Redemption is rare... Thanks for sharing Nosheen.
