Prejudice Shades Poem by Haile Tesfaye

Prejudice Shades

Rating: 5.0

Roots with flaws,
prejudice is the cause.
If not privileged suffer
under the law.

Scorned for the skin
tone, fused in a sling
due to belief system.
Deemed a sin, a motive
to stone away.

Justice roars, yet
War at shore. A tainted
structure with terror and
apartheid as tools of trade.
Freedom mourns, for bigots
guard the doors.

As I am a white male, I guess I am flying under the radar of the bigots you mention. I have known all sorts of prejudice though because I have a mental problem. I am regarded as a freak by some. I have come to really value those who can demonstrate tolerance towards others. I would regard 'tolerance' as a virtue. All the best Haile Tesfaye!
