Pregnant Morning Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Pregnant Morning

Clouds so heavy
Birthing a soothing morning drizzle
As I lay my soul next to my love's
Thinking of that very last day
When my soul shall take a vacation
To places of no return
When garlands shall adorn my sepulcher
Some weeping over my demise
Others wailing loud for joy
As a tombstone stands to remind passersby
What a man I once was among the living
Keep liars and hypocrites away
And let those that knew me, celebrate
My written works, interred in their hearts
Whose hearts must be inspired to do good
To humanity, so long as they walk the face of the earth
As the garland adorned grave sing hope
To the souls on this side of the great divide!
