Pray, Pray, Pray! Poem by Denis Martindale

I know of great evangelists, I've seen them on TV,
And through the years each one persists, and some have prayed for me.
I thank them all, yes, every one, for true love each expressed,
The King of Kings, God's only Son, knows that they did their best.

And now I pray for others, too, compassion drives me on,
So God bless me, and God bless you, more faith to build upon.
More light, more power and more peace, more impact than before,
Such that God's wonders never cease, God's blessings to outpour.

This holy thing that we call prayer, it's more than words we speak,
It proves to be beyond compare, when we, the Lord, would seek.
With hands held tight, or raised above, with eyes opened, or closed,
God looks upon our hearts with love, thanks to the Holy Ghost.

If we remain as living stones, according to God's will,
He intercedes with aching groans, so that we serve God still.
