Praise The Rain (After Joy Harjo) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Praise The Rain (After Joy Harjo)

Rating: 5.0

Praise the rain
For it cooled down the hot August sun
Praise the rain
Because the crops have been saved
And praise the rain
In the shadows of raindrops
But their tracks shine
In the brighter sunlight
After the rain has stopped
Making the day bearable
And the night is filled with joy

Praise the rain indeed. I wish it would rain here. Not for me, but for my grandchildren. I have actually seen rain.
