symbol of hope and freedom;
hangs its head in shame

Good observation, a great country being run down by its self serving politicians! Washington should read this!
And for the most part, it should. The American people are wonderful, it is America the government, the oligarchy, that is shameful
the people are what makes this place special. I totally agree, Unfortunately too much power in the hands of a very few!
Great imagery, you are right the political rhetoric coming out from the elections are deplorable. A perfect 10, great Senryu composition.

Kelly is right, what is the difference between us and Russia, where the whole economy is in the hands of a select few. A social unrest is in the cards at this rate.
