Political Aspirations Versus Religious Convictions Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Political Aspirations Versus Religious Convictions

Where is my God?
I now need you
I'm on my knees
Praying like hell
So surrounded
Fires of hell
Never so scared

My crucifix
Around my neck
Blessed by mother
Jerusalem
Home of One God

Dying in this war
Many innocents
Children and women
And the elderly
Tears not of joy
I cannot employ
Tears of sorrow
For next tomorrow

Where is my God?
I'm on my knees
Please speak to me
