Police Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Police

Police

“Someone died”
I was told “suicide”.

No news, as if not.
Kept secret, as if none.

Unmentioned
As if dust in the gust.

Who was he?
What happened?
When exact?
Tell us how.

The Police whom we pay
Our labor, employed,
Shoot and kill as they want.
(Self-defense)

Tell us how…

What are rules?
Where from?
Who sets them?
Who’s allowed?

What is base?

Police as, I have read
(Of Obeid and Khayyam)
And the judge
And the men in power
(Politics, money-based)
Are friends, partners
With the thieves, to crimes.
