Poinciana Trees Poem by Kelly Boutin

Poinciana Trees

I found you love, under the Poinciana trees
I knew when I found you I could never leave
I knew you were
royalty

The flowers fell off the Tulip trees,
Tears rain into a stream
I found my love in a dream
Under the Poinciana trees

Purple Jacarandas dropped little leaflets
Your eyes were so sad I didn't want to leave it
It was so pretty you should have seen it
I woke up again and tried to redream it
