POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
About a quarter century later, I had come across Grace. She stated that she was depressed largely due to how her husband was treating her. He was using her as a trophy and emotionally abusing her. Additonally, he was extremely possessive.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

At first I thought a little harsh. Like Springsteen wrote You ain't a beauty, but hey you're alright (or something like that) . But then I read the comment, and the poem had a completely different meaning. I love that

THX so much for bringing that to mine attention, D.N. I don't always use Poet's Notes, but I'm really glad that I did so this time. I really hope that future readers of this poem read my notes. I wouldn't want them to misinterpret what I had meant. THX again!
