I so appreciate the prayerful extension of my original poem in your version. You opened the poem to a larger frame of reference and thereby tested its strength of purpose. You became a co-creator of this enlarged version of the poem and thereby validated its meaning.

POETRY LIVES FOR POETRY AND DAUGHTER REMEMBERS DU FU - That is such a beautiful conclusion: so many good things are united in those two lines, not least of which are father and daughter in a spiritual way. But it also shows the sheer strength of poetry, even the stubbornness of poetry to honor human values. I feel a universal consolation spread out from your poem. It's not just two people from ancient China, it's all of us that need to be consoled and that's what poets do so well - use words to comfort and strengthen. I.m going to put your poem next to mine! !

Legendary poetry transcending generations, writing-reading and reincarnating, youngest daughter absorbing the father's poetry like a sponge, with mind, heart and soul, silent rain's falling rapidly from pregnant clouds on unknown offspring's land, somewhere there's a bright warrior's legacy shining over the rainbow, converting dark reality into justice and eloquence, and reconciling a lost daughter with her unknown father– ad vitam Aeternam.

I am in awe of your beautiful comment.Poetry gets life through its readers. It flows through generations through writing-reading and incarnating. The readers who enjoy a poem and a commentator who reviews it keep the poetry flowing and they are the real life force behind a living poem. My sincere thanks to you and all the readers-reviewers who infuse life into my poems.

Mystical and lyrical; I feel that I have absorbed beauty here even as the clouds absorb water. Beauty that I will carry with me and which will not return until it has touched some dry place. Yes, poetry lives for poetry. Well done, a beautiful piece.

A lovely write that depicts how a father n daughter are connected through poetry, though living away from each other. Poetry truly has this magical power to bring people closer. I haven't read Daniel's poem but i'll make it a point to read it. Thank you for this amazing write. A big 10.

Thanks Bharati Nayak for showing me the way to Daniel Brick's glorious poem, which I read and rated just a few minutes ago. Your poem is equally wonderful and complements the thoughts of Brick. It is really very nice to see two poets share the same frequency and paying tributes to each other. A great experience. (10)

Father is the IDOL figure for a daughter. He is the support and guide of the daughter.Consciously or unconsciously father influences the child .Du Fu is such father figure in Chinese poetry.Thank you for your kind words.

POETRY HOLDS HER - This is an amazing line. We know father and daughter cannot embrace because they are miles apart but through a poem he sends her they experience the intimacy of their love. // This poem is the ideal companion to A MUSIC IS MADE: both poems express the spiritual depth and breadth of poetry, both probe the mystery dimension in which we live. Your words echo Shakespeare's lines: WE WILL TAKE UPON OURSELVES THE MYSTERY OF THINGS AS IF WE ARE GOD'S SPIES. // It is impossible to be cynical or indifferent after reading this poem: it informs the mind that human beings are good, and it opens the heart so that love can be given and received. If someone asks you, Why do you write poetry, Bharati? just show them this poem. The person will have the best possible answer! !
