Awesome....You have a grand style of simplicity in expressing the selected theme of a poem.... spellbound... extensive hearty praises to your poetry Bharati
It is that pain Which shivers on your lips and sits as a tear drop In the corner of your eyes It is that ache That like an arrow Lovely poem Pierces your heart
Nice translation of original poem 'Kavita'. Outstanding depiction of poetry. Beautiful presentation. Thanks for sharing.
An outstanding poem of what poetry is. Dear Bharati, you truly have the sensitivity and sensibility of a beautiful poetess. God bless you! Full vote!
Flow of pain nicely explained, Another fantastic poem Bhartiji...10++
Beautiful, short piece that is an example of very good poetry. I wish I could read and enjoy the original in Odiya. Pablo Neruda has written one with the same title, which incidentally I have translated into my native Malayalam. You might like to see that (I mean the English translation) . It is at PH. (10)
Many thanks for your kind words. It is a very wonderful feeling when appreciation comes from a poet of such high stature..
this is a beautiful poem with a lovely rhythm. I am curious to know how it would sound in Odia. Being a translator myself, I like to get the feel of the original language as far as possible. I often write poems in French and provide either a verse or prose translation. I also translate from Spanish but haven't the confidence to write in Spanish. This translation is so good I'm going to include it in my Favourite poems' list.
A hearty thanks, Sir, for reading and commenting on my poem from a translator's eye.I have translated Sayeed Abubakar's poem 'A Strange Boy' and it can be found in the comment box on his poem page.It is in Odia script which I typed with the help of a friend.
This is such a delicate piece of art- -Bharati, I swear you placed a piece of your soul in your poetry and this one is so essential Bharati. I swear if this poem was posted anonymously I would know it to be your work because your poetic voice is such a tender, warm, understanding and individual voice. Your words pierce the heart, my dear poet, but in your hands pain blooms into beauty at the same time they bring peace to the soul. A 10 is not enough for this poem..
Thank you dear Susan Williams for your marvelous comment. You are always a Poet's friend. After posting a poem I look forward to your words on it.
Unfortunately I can' t rate the poem as the poet page is not working!
Beautiful Bharati..... This is exactly what poetry is! A rhythmic dance of sorrow and joy woven in words! A 10
Dear Poet Bharati Nayak, I have the connection with the website of PH restored and accessed this poem of yours, as you suggested.. It is delicately written, suited to the song, and I am glad to have such a reader- writer as yourself. Thank you for your composition. Best wishes. AM
Thank you so much Sir, for coming to my page and encouraging me through your kind words.I hope my poems get more of your attention to be read and reviewed.
Thank you for letting me know about the poem. It is truly beautiful. Rhythmic dance of sorrow and happiness that is what poetry is. It can start with either end. Since you have expressed it in last lines it might be worthwhile to add few lines as joy also being the inspiration of poetry. Just a suggestion. The poem is marvelous in all its expressions.
Thank you for your reviews.I agree poetry is expression of both pain and pleasures of life.We express our joy so easily, but find it difficult to express some deep wounds in our heart.
Excellent poem. All stanzas are having superb description.
