Poetry Can Wait Poem by Shaun Cronick

Poetry Can Wait

Rating: 5.0

God it's so late,
Better get to bed.
Too many thoughts,
Running round my head.

Need to switch off,
I need a little sleep.
Gather those thoughts,
Stack them in a heap.

The poetry can wait,
Tomorrow's another day.
Patience is a virtue,
All good Catholics say.

Strike while the iron is hot,
Is an idiom you can keep.
One tonight I shall ignore,
For I'll be counting sheep.

Indeed, patience is a virtue Shaun. My patience has been severely tested this week...sometimes it's so hard to keep a grip on one's anger. I hope you have a good rest and return with all guns blazing so to speak! Anyway, it's a restful five from me.
