Whatever effort is not required strikes outsiders as ridiculous, waste of time, what's the use? You know those reactions. Well, an ARS POETICA is a poet's answer to those nay-sayers and doubters, and just to make it crystal clear to them why we poets value poetry, we put our ARS POETICA in verse rather than prose. (BTW the first poet to use that term was Horace - that's why it's in Latin - I studied Latin in high school and translated Horace, that's how I learned about it,) Did I say your poem is eloquent? !
