Many say one who can not do a creative work becomes a critic.

Yes, both the poets and the critics have two different approaches towards a poem! While one writes mostly to please himself or to satisfy his creative urge using his pen, the other evaluates it and points out the relative merits and demerits, scrutinizing with his eyes. Both the poet and the critic are agents enriching poetry and they are two sides of the same coin. You have put it brilliantly!

Posting our poems on a public web site, indeed there should be criticism....as Dillip and Captain Cur have said it should be kind and relevant....sometimes the comments make me doubt if my poem is read and commented... you have chosen an excellent theme to work on Kesav...10++

Yes. Sometimes the comments go berserk. Sometimes irrelevant. We writers have to take them on our stride. A few find a wall to write on, yes? Liked your good observation there

A wonderful and insightful poem. Like other freedom, poetic freedom is not absolute. It must be within the bounds of law. I concur with the wonderful comments of Captain Cur.

An excellent poem about creativity and criticism. Criticism can be very valuable when done with kind intent.

An excellent poem! I sincerely appreciate your stance but here that does not happen! I like constructive criticism that helps a poet to grow but destructive comments demoralize a poet where he may be tempted to provide justice to his natural and gifted skills of creativity! Top score!

Poets and critics. They change positions. Both have their valuable roles in literature. Demoralization is one thing creative criticism another. Thanks for your nice observation Dillip. Liked
