Poem Hunger

It's like my stomach is in my head
The hunger for a poem
stimulating my artistic senses
to the extent
on a full stomach
i would rather break my fast with verses
ignoring the dieticians advice for veggies

At lunch i would rather recite ballads
skipping the bowl of salads
and supping only after writing a poem
any excuse to forego the porridge.

Poem hunger is the starter that primes my craving for food
The best way to buoy my mood
Reading a good poem is like smoking a good joint
my dopamine levels at optimum levels
writing one even better
in the verse, enjoying the sound of every letter
to the extent sometimes i giggle with pleasure
Those alone moments treasured

And, unlike the satiety of food
poem hunger will never bloat
distend the brain
or, cause a brain clot
Give me a poem anytime
it doesn't have to rhyme
as long as it satisfies my poem hunger.
Please PoemHunter.
