Plow Deep My Heart Poem by Chris Embrick

Plow Deep My Heart

Plow deep my heart
This fallow ground
Three seasons now
With sorrow bound
Her dying left
These drought filled years
No memory
Escaped the tears
The first year hardest
On the soil
To end the hurt
Took daily toil
Plow deep my heart
This fallow ground
There's more love
Yet to be found
Some years ago
You lost your love
Kept yourself
Most sorrowful
Your heart broken
Just like mine
Now time has left
The hurt behind
Who knew one day
Our paths would cross
And gain far more
Than what we lost
Well seasoned pain
Needs but a shower
For love to grow
Indeed to flower
Though Winter still
It's time to sow
Plow deep my heart
The love will grow.
