Michael, we all get those request. It as if they think we have nothing else better to do. I only read what I want and by whom I like. Those who request get a kind letter from me, unless it is a friend of course. Top marks and thanks for sharing this with us. All the best David
Oh yes, this sounds a bit familiar. Now where did I read this before? ? ? (snicker) Good one, Michael. You started my day with a smile and a chuckle! '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn
Yes; this is the FIRST list of twelve and I'll be sending the others later; I know you've nothing better to do than spend half a day reading my stuff; it's not as if you had your own things to write! lol..loved this. I love hitting the button to jettison the requests into the darkest regions of..you know..(smile)
What I try to do is to hit on one of their poems - just in case I may have something useful to say.. We all know what a 'great adventure', a huge personal step, is one's first posted poem, But some here seem to think that it's a mutual admiration society, where the number of requested responses counts for something.. However - if poetry is to be the new rocknroll, then encouragement of one's fellow explorers in poetry should go on full blast.. But what is totally discourteous, thoughtless - and bad careerism! - is not to read a poem by the guy you're entreating, before you ask for his or her comments on yours... after all, what is the point of praise from someone who writes rubbish themself? Now, where did I put those BP tablets...
