This is a cry from the heart - which may well be the only spiritual component still functioning in this speaker. Life has taken all of his resources, all that is left is the appeal to some higher power for the end of suffering. He can't access his mind, action is impossible, and his soul is clouded with despair. Only an outside spiritual force can rescue him, and only a paradise apart from the world can restore him.

Wow! Amitava. This poem is astounding, it hit my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Amitava you expressed your empty sorrow so gently and tenderly. Comparing your heart to the wounded bird was absolutely brilliant. This is one of my favorites now. Thank you, RoseAnn
