Pleasant And Omnipresent Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Pleasant And Omnipresent

I am going to make you mine, sweet chain of command
Every moment of saturated togetherness
Heroic acts rehearsed to impress, in practice and impromptu

I am going to make you mine, temporal worshipper
Peace mood sustainer, false god in Placeboville
Dragged down by enforced etiquette

And if I fail to make you mine
A silent peanut gallery points, laughs, shakes in their seats
Your despair is just as silent and just as shared.

Everywhere, nowhere, good morning, fancy seeing you here
What a coincidence we are eating at the same restaurant
Watching you not be scared and me face the challenge of knowing all about you
