Simple observation that brings up an issue that doesn't come out much - about equality in opportunity. Some parents do not believe that girls and boys should have access to the same opportunities-not just in toys but also in sports activities and artistic endeavors. Your pithy poem overwhelmed me with awareness of the the choices that I have seen withheld from so many who have so much talent that only shame should fall on those who have so deprived them.

an extension to Pattys brain work down the line...grass/ snake/ little boy...does grass look a bit odd out there? ! you 'live' a little girl there in your lines...the diction and the poem style relate very well to that 'life'...and that's good poetics...10

Sonya, I can see you winking behind me at this one! Wonderful when girls can boys can both enjoy one another's toys! (I plead guilty yes, very much!) smiles, Patti
