Platonic Woes Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

Platonic Woes

Rating: 4.4

She only wants us to be friends,
but I want something more.
I hope our friendship never ends;
there's something else in store.

If she'd agree to be my wife,
how happy I would be!
I'd then protect her all my life,
as she would plainly see.

She thinks that I'm too old to wed,
but put those thoughts aside;
She's talkin' ‘bout a thoroughbred;
this cowboy can still ride!
