My son Johnny has raised pitbulls forever. And under his guidance they have all become great dogs. It is the owners that should be punished. I have a mini-pinscher and he is too much foe me. Lol.
Shamus is a true hero and obviously loves his human dearly. I have to agree with you in this case also. I find in most instances it is not the dogs fault for its viscious demeaner but the fault of the owner. This seems to especially be true in case that involve Pitbulls. They certainly don't deserve the bad rap they get. All in all I am thankful that you and Shamus escaped relatively unscathed and though I'm sure it was a terrifying experience you penned a great write from it! Hugs to Shamus from me! ! ! !
How you perfectly described this incident is amazing. I too, had a similar incident happen with my Doberman, Duke, and a German Shepherd who happened to be a retired police dog, now in the hands of a homeless person, walking with out a leash. I seen it in his eyes, as he eyed us and then came charging as if we were his supper. It was a horrible incident, and costly, as my dog defending and protecting me, ended up with stitches from the bites. all the guy had to say was gee, he never did that before....I am happy to hear that you and your dog were not harmed. Great poem.
I love pitbulls so much, i want every single one the only thing i dont get is why people hate them so much: _(
