Pipe Dream Poem by Laquory Jones

Pipe Dream

Verse 1
We had pipe dreams of becoming Billionaires
And said 'when we become Millionaires
Everyone would finally get their share' not knowing
That this cruel world will leave you bare
This world can become full of false pretenses
& demolish any hopes and dreams
But we had to find a way to abolish
All the emptiness that we had been feeling
In the beginning we were do or die
No doubt she was down for the ride
But I like to keep things blatantly platonic
But this one became truly psychotic
See relationships can become truly toxic
At least that became my logic
But it became quite ironic
That I fell in love with her crazy she was what
Kim was to Slim Shady (Forgive me Marshal)
But at the time I was feeling partial
Never knew that she could be so harsh though
I should've known straight from the start (oh)
That she only had half of a heart (now you know)
She never did appreciate my poetry and its art
So her and I had no choice but to depart
So alone is how I had to embark

Chorus:
No one seems to be listening
I'm not sure what's happening
Sometimes it all feels like a pipe dream
Nothing is ever what it seems
Nav, I too lose faith periodically
While asking myself
Do people even care about Richie?

Verse 2
It's just women and what they do
Some are more likely to pick and choose
They're the reason for the booze
Forgive me I'm just spitting out the truth
Where heartbreak ensues
Another broken relationship follows suit
So many of them seems to be falling through
Richie, pain always seems to be following you
Ain't that the freaking truth
Richie, that's how it sometimes be
That's why they call it 'destiny'
Though some things aren't destined to be
Yet, every couple aims for longevity
But when the pain rains down quite heavily
It can affect them so mentally and it become a
Tendency to make the other out as the enemy
But real love has always been the remedy
When the world doesn't give out much empathy
Jealousy always ruins the chemistry
Now that's a well known fact
I just might have to rewind that back
Okay, Richie you have to relax (chill)

Chorus:
No one seems to be listening
I'm not sure what's happening
Sometimes it all feels like a pipe dream
Nothing is ever what it seems
Nav, I too lose faith periodically
While asking myself
Do people even care about Richie?
