So typical of garages in the U.K.....still mired in the sexist world of the 1970s....a very incisive poem by Billy Collins. By the way it always seems to cost more, and take longer than initially thought. at one's local garage..funny that..very convenient for them not so much for us!
Congratulations on being chosen again as The Modern Poem Of The Day. And also for being almost all the time on # 33 on Top 500 Poets. Double congratulations. God's Blessings. Please, write more poems, thank you.
there mechanical life is busy with daily cacophony works to survive in the human society with the many living and non-living parts of nature; the poet masterly delineated the life in his poetic expression; greatly written
Congratulations for being selected this poem as the modern poem of the poem of the day.
Only a poet with a vivid imagination could force the reader's eyes from the garage floor to the wall calender. Great imagery and congratulations. : -)
Congratulations again on being twice chosen as The Member Poem Of The Day, Billy. A prettiest poem about the Pinup Woman. Thank you for sharing.
Needless to say, in the confusion of wind and excited dog the leash has wrapped itself around her ankles several times giving her a rather bridled and helpless appearance which is added to by the impossibly high heels she is teetering on... great poem. tony
Thank you Billy, I like your poem. It is so nice to feel something real, something true. I am touched by your poetry. Il faut continuer. Merci de ne pas retenir les commentaires négatifs des gens qui ne savent pas comprendre le cœur d'un enfant de 10 ans.

not so dense that you cannot make out the calendar of pinup
Quite long for a poem about pinup girls. I have often seen these pinups in garages myself. I would not have included the lines about the dog. Collins uses the months of the year wittily, Miss March, Miss April.
Fun. Those calendars help to pass the time of day and beat looking down the exhaust of your broken car.
Such a great poem by Billy Collins..........................
The narration of minute details in the scenario is superb. Well deserved modern poem of the day.
