Amazing work. Love the witticism and piercing outlook on self-esteem and discomfort.

yes...this 'itch' signals that something has to be done from the micro to macro, to be able to transcend, from infancy to adulthood...

Good thing it is only 10 AM. I have the rest of the day to delve into this philosophy and test its premise. I don't disagree but want to think about all of its ramifications. There are some things we cannot control which cause us discomfort, so how do we deal with those? Is it a question of mind over matter or allowing time for disappation.

Wonderfully philosophical and introspective but much wisdom from such young shoulders (have you been here before David?) Excuse the condescending tone, not meant at all, I am just wowed by this poem's prodfundity! Love it.. HG: -) xx

David this stream of philosophical consciousness flows with a thoughtful wind behind it. You're right. Self esteem (and the self-discipline that it engenders) is the most precious gift, without which life becomes one hard slog. AS one who is attracted to souls crippled by this affliction, spending years attempting to provide the unconditional loving denied them early in life, I identify strongly with this poem. As one who has an abiding love of words, I admire it's economy and well crafted use of language. As one with a sense of humor (without which my nurture of such souls would be impossible) I particularly enjoyed your 'rap and telly tubbies' line. Excellent poem. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Musings that have the reader nodding in agreement here...the opening statement is explored, ruminated and projected as the poem expands until a satisfying conclusion is reached. justine.

the open lines made me think a lot...I think this is a materialistic point of view but so real in every aspect of life
