yes, brian, you have done verse, AND you HAVE done WORSE as well. :) “Oh what is my life without you Poetry” ………… you don’t know? cake, pie, ice cream, cookies, pastries, candy, ice creamf, pizza; ………did I say ICE CREAM! ! ? favorite lines so far: “You are the strings on the harps Angels play You are my drink in the heat of the day, My consolation when I lose my way, ” you ARE talkin’ ‘bout me, right? another favorite line: “Your wisdom the soil that I farm.” ……. and it even rhymes with an earlier line, ….in case ya didn’t notice! “What pulls me from sleep in the darkness of night, ” ……..when I was last “single”/not married and starting my poetry-writing-part of my life, Poetry DID pull me from sleep several nights; I’d have ideas I HAD to write down (while sitting on the toilet) before I lost them. but, NOW, hitched again, Poetry had better NOT pull me from my sleep! the toilet, however, does still pull me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - these two lines*** together baffle me. perhaps you were starting to fall asleep at 4: 20 a.m.? ? yeah, that’s it. you, my friend, were tired. *** [And who would I be without voice, ears and sight? Only you Poetry, only you! ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ok, a good one for the November showcase, Section B, I believe. thanks. bri :)
O this is so touching and full of passion. Indeed, poetry has been a major source of our happiness as poets. I am particularly happy for knowing that, my senior -BJ loves poetry even more than I do! ? I love this piece! O poetry, how poetic thy name sounds!
