There is much truth revealed in the lines PERHAPS ANY SOUL / THAT LET ME GET THIS CLOSE / WOULD HAVE THE SAME MAGIC? When soul-barriers come down, when a heart is open, when trust silences doubt, then we feel gratitude which is a wonderful accompaniment to love. Gratitude has to be one of our finest human emotions because its very nature is to create a link between two people, or strengthen an existing link. I really like this stanza. In a poem giving reasons for loving, this has to be one of the most accessible and truest reasons
