Part 1: To " my sad friend" I think your suspicion is a kind of self-deception because you cannot dictate my feelings to be more accommodating to yours, my friend. That makes me sad indeed for I do value you as a person, repentant or not. I take no joy at all in the loss of your friendship. My gratitude, such as it is, is that your inability to forgive perceived " my faults" releases me from my pursuit of reconciliation.

Part 2: My poem is in fact a witness to my ongoing love for you, my friend, but you seem to hate both my poems and my politics. Love Trump if you must. I do not hate him or you, just the misery that flows from his arrogance and your apparant pain! I have never been angry at you and refuse to divorce my " Truth, " my joy, when it differs from yours! Be blessed in this world and the next. That's my prayer!

" I'm grateful we're not friends" I suspected as much. All of your painful and cruel joking through the years were sourced from something deep within you.
