who wrote poem # 1? and who wrote poem # 2? it reminds me a bipolar poet. if in fact you at times experience opposing feelings about life and what is ahead, you are not alone! how is THAT for a profound statement? ? !

#1:
nice use of chrysanthemums.
nice word myopic; i looked up its definition.
If God were real, He would do more
Than leave all in a lurch, ................. this is something i would write! and this: The dead are simply dead.

the last stanza is a bit (more?) unclear for me. but rhyming, as often it is, is very nice.

#2:
i especially like:
All feelings are a gift from God,
Intended just to serve,
His loving lessons to His child,
When life throws me a curve.
and the rest........ yes, i can see how believing in a loving, bestowing, shielding, saving, welcoming God......would be comforting to a human. especially a human stressed by life. maybe i should decide to believe again. hmm? let me flip a coin. can i borrow a quarter?
i wasn't going to comment on another of your poems until you submit a poem for, at least send me a message about, the 'january ACTC contest', BUT I FORGOT my intention in that area.
bri :) and knowing you, i'll like this.
