siblings keep fighting, spewing poison
life-long feud over petty reasons
when death is imminent
want to hug and repent
too sad, too late, too many missed seasons

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
based on a story from Mukti Bhavan, Varanasi

~~~~~~~~~~~
Mukti Bhavan is a lodge in Varanasi where terminally ill patients hoping to die within days, pay to get accommodation, Hindus believe that death in Varanasi leads to salvation. It is neither euthanasia nor suicide, but natural death. The current story is about a man who had a lifelong feud with his brother over property and had built a wall separating the brothers' portions of the property. However, just before his death, he expressed a desire to meet his brother, hug him and repent. His brother arrives, they hug; he asks the brother to demolish the wall. Then he breathes his last in his brother's arms.A touching story.The poem is in Limerick format- but sad poem, not a funny poem!
Loved reading every bit of it. Life is so fragile and we hold so many grudges against each other. beautifully written.10+++ Mukti Bhavan is one sensitive movie.
