I enjoyed reading this poem Patti. You riddled us! What is perihelion, what is parallax, who is the periscope, what are we without our skin? On the first read, I imaging someone looking through a camera lens (a very special one) at the cosmos. The play on words, Tail on Comet and Spin of Sun made me think of their stories and their movements. How strange to be separated from all of that by our forms, our bodies, which keep us on this planet...the thoughts we wear inside. Lovely!
Thanks Pamela. That was a real spontaneous thing and I was worried it made no sense after the ink dried. I think you nailed it pretty good. (It's fun to read what others write about what we wrote because it's always enlightening.)
