Pent-Up Poem by Bharati Nayak

Pent-Up

Rating: 4.2

The words are getting heavy

With my pent-up breaths

The stanzas are bathing in tears

I fail to find the right words

After so many search

Tell me,

How shall I write a poem?

Someone has imprisoned them

In the dark cells

My language have been lost in dungeon

Tell me

How shall I rescue them?

Give a key in my hand

Let them be freed

To the warm sunshine

Let them get mad in the wine of dawn

Let them spread far and wide

Let my heart's emotions

Flow in poetry

Like a dancing river.

Bathing in tears! ! ! Emotions; Motions of love and life! However, like a dancing river. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

Yeah! Birth of a poem, it is so painful. Nice poem, Bharati.

A nice expression of human sentiments that sometimes paralyze our thoughts.

" After so many search" i'd say " After so much searching" or " After so many searches" . :) " Let them get mad in the wine of dawn" wine or wind? Do you drink wine at daybreak in India? ! well, this time you DID get your words out. congratulations. bri ;)

I relate to this, Bharati—when it feels a poem is impending but no poem comes, when a day deserves a poem, but no poem comes. You can catch the drift of this in my poem “Semi-Retired in Early Spring” when one did come. I like “let them get mad at the wine of dawn”—GREAT line! I relate it to the drunkenness I describe in my Heart-Song that begins “Because of what you have done...” At this point in my life, I wait till inspiration comes. -Glen
