Peniamina V Poem by Melissa Hurst

Peniamina V

Tis a celebrity who once loved his fanatic
A paper face once knew my lips.

The famous is nowhere near
Yet I still reside behind words and facades
To avoid cold rejection.

I sense it near,
O how I fear!
Peniamina so dear, will no longer whisper in my ear.

Unrequited forever,
dim-witted by past affair.
Peniamina still lingers in this air.

What a pair,
so easy I am to tear,
lover was calm and cared.

Fault of mine jealousy,
possessive heart cannot change
and will rot without him.

Celebrity knew his fanatic
loved his paper face
while he dwelled afar.

Idol should always know
that the heart of the faithful
will always favor his eyes,
his lips, and the rest too beautiful for explanation.

Forever, Peniamina.
Always, even if a counterpart caresses you
and I alone with the hell of abandonment.
Forever, as your finger is adorned with a ring
that I have not placed there.

Always, Peniamina, I love you
with my breaking body, heavy heart, and shackled spirit.
