Have you ever drawn water
from a well?
what did û concieve
Afore letting the loop a fell?
This water i must fetch?
Hmmm, Here's a truth i must tell.
The strength of purpose hides
Betwixt
Every inch of letting down
the string
That links the fetcher and the grip
'I must fetch' he says, 'though its farthest down the ditch.'
You see. Such is life between
That a man should see and Chase a dream
Whether or not he sees the deep
His mind should settle to rèach the peak
(and while he yet draws, his psyché béars record of the pain)
The weight of this fetcher,
eats deeply my wrist
I careless less for my limb
All I need for thirst is drink
He quites not, restricts all
he thinks none other than to réach.
