Hi London - I love New Orleans - I visted it PREFLUMEN (2003) it was awesome - hope to come again sometime! I love your poem - as you say writing is so so liberating. 'Lets everything iinside be free'. It enables us to use our imagination - in a poem we can be anyone and anything anywhere and we can do and say anything to whom and with whom we want - it releases our depest imaginations - awesome. We can be funny and as false as we like. When we get our hands on pen & paper (I always carry some with me 24/7) and the passion turns us on (possibly) like nothing else! Lovely poem which well deserves a TEN because its subject (composing POETRY) is so so drea to all our hearts. I feel the same way. I feel looking back on some of my poems that some of them are 'throw-away' or 'bad' but those same poems are the poems that people comment on telling me how it touched them in some way. Makes you humble, I suppose.
