Passing Time Poem by Saul Palti

Passing Time

Our comfortable ride has taken a seat
the ball and chain is al that remains
she is afraid yet eagerly has her meat
as all paths lead into the final lanes
what is her joyous boast of life
to be a queen and a homely wife
with her companionship in twine
all that is on fire is of candle light
and the whole world turned out fine
of everlasting wanting clear sight

what on earth is left to do
other than anything to be
the world is painted wide and true
only ribbons and bows are left to see
her elegance is of a unicorns birth
whatever is left to see on this earth
a wanting bride by your side
and haplessness is departed and gong
the crowd which once you would hide
will boast on your day with a song
