Parting Here Poem by William Kofoed

Filled with traffic all confused

turning left and right

going there and leaving here

seeking what they would find



quickly moving going between

some press straight ahead

very sure of what they need

and of what they will find



in confusion some are lost

unsure of what they seek

thoughts of doubt fill their hearts

of what there is to find



believing once that they knew

of their wants and needs

of the things that they had

and of that that they had need



unsure now where to go

or what to seek there

how to know if it is right

not again to be wrong



leaving behind what is now

parting from what is known

happiness that once was had

now in sorrow ends
