Glorious poem Ernestine - the carmine and white dazzle, the envelope stanza quatrain form is perfect and the lyrical, festive atmosphere would gladden the most melancholy heart. One of your best. love, Allie xxxx

Somehow your intelligent description makes for a vivacious yet serene poem. One to read time and again. t x

I like this one for many reasons, Ernestine. The clever way you made it rhyme without losing any of the detail, the picture it conjured up in my mind, and ofcourse your trademark use of colour. This is the best poem I have read this evening. Top marks. Love, Fran xxx

Striking landscape of red and white. Around about January when winter has firmly sets its teeth, those pretty dabs of color are life-savers.
