Pale Eyes Poem by Helen Crutchett

Pale Eyes

Pale eyes hang on blue faces
wondering where dreams go
when broken hearts set them free...

Forgotten souls
drifting alone with no home
hopes hung to dry from drenching
tears staining nighttime
thoughts running adrift, hiding
behind fabricated smiles...

Always the pale eyes
wistfully seeking a reprieve from
chasing after elusive dreams
Blue faces frozen in solitude's slumber.
