Sitting in front of an easel
like she's gonna hug it.
Staring long hours at a picture
That nobody can see,

This is an amazing portrait of the painter's INNER experience of painting. It tells me things about the very ACT of painting I never knew and could never learn just by myself. So you have taken me inside your experience as a painter and without saying anything specific you have given me the CREATIVE EXPERIENCE. This is a keeper! (Do you know that idiom: it refers to a fisherman catching a fish big enough to ear so he doesn't throw it back the lake - good for the fisherman, bad for the fish!)
I have Pam to thank for directing me to your poem. She knows that I have added a sketch to a poem and encourages me to keep drawing and writing. She is so right and I am so happy that I came I was able to glimpse a tiny corner of the palette. Wonderful............
Lovely poem. I used to feel this way when playing music. It is a solitary activity, but very fulfilling...and art is always there for you when there is no one else. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad that you have had the same feeling while playing music, I do agree with you.
Hi Negar! our the book is ready (at this very moment, it is in revision - by Amazon) and in a few hours (6-12 hs) it will be online ================ But wait for my email, before sending the letters, please, because I have some news..
here is an Italian translation of your poem.. for you..
! i call it a fine gentleman translation!
a Marco Angelo: grazie per il commento. Molto gentile Thank you for your kind words, Marco Angelo Cheers
'a glimpse of how I feel while painting! ' a nice description of that feeling.. it would be even nicer if a picture came along with the poem - one painted by you..
oh dear Fabrizio it is breath taking. I really don't know what to say..... OMG Tnx a lot!
What a remarkable poem! You take us i-n-s-i-d-e the creative moment so that we can observe the process without disturbing it. We see the determination of the artist to achieve something personal and unique; she won't settle for the mediocre and this means she has to work long and hard. This is called ARTISTIC INTEGRITY and your poem displays it with convincing force. You have given me a lesson in the INNER commitment of the painter I will not forget. This poem opened my eyes as only an account by an actual painter can do. It's a major keeper! !
