Pains Me Poem by Heather Perry Heather Perry

Pains Me

It pains me to lie
directly to you even though
you're five you should still
be in the loop.

I know you would
love to a be a big sis
so these are the things
I don't want you to miss.

Even though I can't
tell you or have you
feel what I feel I'll be
descriptive on how this
all feels.

Your baby sister
kicks me all day
doesn't let up
doesn't just lay.

I know if I had your
hand on me I know
that you would soothe
her all day.

I'm sorry mommy doesn't
feel good I'm sorry I cry but I
will always keep the
hurt from you
the hurt I have deep inside.
