Pain Poem by Rodney Dufault

Pain

I thought that I could take my pain and make it better,
but the truth of that thought is betrayed by every letter.
My wife has helped me forget it all ever since I met her,
but all it takes is seeing someone else in pain and I remember.
That's just the kind of man I am, but I'm hated for it; Whatever.
If I could, I'd take all of the worlds pain, and I mean it - FOREVER!
Free everyone, and release them from their tethers.
Someday I'll find a way to say what I mean when I get myself together.
For now I'll just say what comes to mind to get me through the terror.
I want to learn to love you all before my heart becomes any deader.
I want to be a butterfly who when he flaps his wings changes patterns in the weather,
and I want you all there to fly with me on the winds of love, light as a feather.
