Where fishes of deep orange, blue

The shallow water here is a pale azure The deeper cobalt merging into indigo And stays so colour fast for a thousand Miles and more as we sweep eastwards The seas of the West have a deeper, lovely azure shade You have painted a beautiful seascape as if you have seen all those underwater sights with the eyes of a scuba diver! I too have a great fascination for the sea! Lovely write, Tom

This is a great poem. It is almost if you were there by the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. Well done, my friend! I can't believe you said it is just a dream. You must have been there in the Great Pacific. I can see you looking down into the deep blue sea, or perhaps immersed in a bathyscape.

I wish I had seen some of those sights. Only in films and documentaries. My love of the sea is genuine and I see the Pacific as the imagination stretched out and boundless That you for your comments. I shall read more of your poems. The content of the one I read was excellent.

Thanks, Georgie. I like to use colour a lot in verse. I'm probably a frustrated artist!

Thank you, Mihaela. I read one of your poems for which Dimitrios provided a Greek version. I took ancient Greek and Latin at School but my Greek now is very frail! It was a beautiful poem in the English but I forgot to put a comment on it. Perhaps I should revise my Greek. I'd love to read Sappho, Sophocles and Euripides in the original again. When I first went to senior school our annual school play was Oedipus in Greek! Tom Billsborough

I think I started thinking about all those romantic sounding names and the vast tracts of empty ocean in that last stretch from Tuamotu to Peru or prob Chile as my dream usually ends in Valparaiso! . It's been a beautifully sunny April day here and Mr Purry and I were lazing in the garden at the time. Nice to hear from you again, Tom

A fine dream, indeed. Let us hope that we take global warming seriously before all the coral reefs are gone.

Yes, Kelly. We cannot afford to lose this part of our valuable habitats. A dead sea is no sea at all, just a refuse dump of dead dreams. Tom
