Washing the barrier reef, the Coral sea,
Brings fresh nutrients to the coral blooms,
Chrysanthemums in splendour
Where fishes of deep orange, blue

This is a great poem. It is almost if you were there by the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. Well done, my friend! I can't believe you said it is just a dream. You must have been there in the Great Pacific. I can see you looking down into the deep blue sea, or perhaps immersed in a bathyscape.
I wish I had seen some of those sights. Only in films and documentaries. My love of the sea is genuine and I see the Pacific as the imagination stretched out and boundless That you for your comments. I shall read more of your poems. The content of the one I read was excellent.
i didn't say much the first time around, did i? to MyPoemList and to April 2017's showcase for PH poets, if you don't complain! ! favorite lines: The earth is mostly water. So are we. Our nutrients flow round us too, As those awash within the Coral sea. topic: peace ..............yes, if you avoid the sharks. bri let me know if you don't want me to use it.
Thanks Bri. Yes, you may use it for April. Funnily enough it's one I like myself.
I lost myself in your poetic painting again tonight, absolutely delightful. I know I commented before but i found myself reading it again tonight Tom. Wonderful! ! ! !
Thanks, Norah. It's one I really enjoyed writing, especially the chance to bring in colour and beautiful sounding names!
I try to visualize these places when I meditate. Very relaxing.
Very nice description of color, it creates a beautiful image!
Thanks, Georgie. I like to use colour a lot in verse. I'm probably a frustrated artist!
From sharp marauding sharks, ..........sharp as in smart or clever, like you and me? ? i've a college friend living for years in Fiji. he would welcome you i think if you would only stop by some day. i'll just stay home and read more of your poems. bri :)
So beauitfully written the scenes you paint with your pen is excellent. so enjoyed this read. Annette
Thank you Annette. The place names are so poetic and the colour changes in the sea are fascinating. Tom
Beautiful imagery and serene mood, blending lovely in this fine-written poem.
Thank you, Mihaela. I read one of your poems for which Dimitrios provided a Greek version. I took ancient Greek and Latin at School but my Greek now is very frail! It was a beautiful poem in the English but I forgot to put a comment on it. Perhaps I should revise my Greek. I'd love to read Sappho, Sophocles and Euripides in the original again. When I first went to senior school our annual school play was Oedipus in Greek! Tom Billsborough
I got lost in this beautiful dream also Tom It took me to paradise for a wee while in the midst of my busy day Well written also
I think I started thinking about all those romantic sounding names and the vast tracts of empty ocean in that last stretch from Tuamotu to Peru or prob Chile as my dream usually ends in Valparaiso! . It's been a beautifully sunny April day here and Mr Purry and I were lazing in the garden at the time. Nice to hear from you again, Tom
Like passive guardian angels or dispassionate stars. The shallow water here is a pale azure The deeper cobalt merging into indigo.. such a wonderful nature poem you are a great lover of nature...... Fiji, Tonga, Tahiti and Tuamotu, Chile and Peru. like all these in your poem.. write and write and write. you are a creative genius. tony
Thank you for your kind comments, Tony. It is inspiring to read your work. I thought you last poem which I read this morning was great. Thanks again, my friend. Tom
A fine dream, indeed. Let us hope that we take global warming seriously before all the coral reefs are gone.
Yes, Kelly. We cannot afford to lose this part of our valuable habitats. A dead sea is no sea at all, just a refuse dump of dead dreams. Tom
Thank you, Edward. I think I was feeling a bit expansive this morning. Looking at your latest work today. Tom
The shallow water here is a pale azure The deeper cobalt merging into indigo And stays so colour fast for a thousand Miles and more as we sweep eastwards The seas of the West have a deeper, lovely azure shade You have painted a beautiful seascape as if you have seen all those underwater sights with the eyes of a scuba diver! I too have a great fascination for the sea! Lovely write, Tom
