Over Populated Poem by Jeremy Horsford

Over Populated

Rating: 4.5

I awoke this morning wondering whether
you will finally accept me.

I saw you on the transit system and
approached you. My words trickled off
my tongue, however my decibels were
eclipsed by society. I was ignored again.

I saw you whilst shuffling along the
long stretch to work. I turned to you
with my mouth readying to execute
dialogue and you used the handbrake. I
left you behind.

As I neared my dwelling, I saw you and
other yous exchanging agreements with
jocularity. There seemed to be a
familiarity in the air. One I will
never grasp.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The scene and the emotional intensity are vividly captured; so real and palpable! And the last three lines...you can almost feel the speaker's pain in its melancholic tone. A sad and absolutely beautiful poem!
