I am sorry that I read this poem a few days late. Peace is craved for ever though the mandatory fights have to be fought to retain our rights over our lands. The tale of India`s freedom struggle stands tall and high before that of the Kurukhetra battle glorifying bloodshed between the cousins and that of the Mother of all Battles fought by the Americancs speaking of violence for truiumph. Though the times have changed and let us hope the belligerents will one day come to living for each other.

Good write my friend..As it is said, war begins in the minds of men, your poem is a good attempt for those minds to indulge in introspection and then retrospect their err...No peace can ever be won through war....

A mind blowing write about guns and war. Unfortunately to make peace there must be war. Lives are lost and families are destroyed. Peace will come when love reigns within the hearts of every man, woman and child. Keep writing and never give up! .

Poem so beautifully portrayed....Yes, we don't need a war anymore...Fighting for motherland and killing the other soldiers who are also fighting for their motherland..its all the innocent soldiers are killed.....if war could be diverted into peace, there would be no bloodshed....Beautiful write. Loved reading it..

I feel you have beautifully portrayed the tug of war going on in the mind of a soldier torn between his loyalties for his land and his love of fellow beings, be it his enemy! Always at the core of his heart, he longs for peace to prevail! The last stanza is just wonderful Aswath! !

Happy Independence Day! ...Patriotism is the fountainhead of all virtues, it's nice to keep the lost heroes in mind while celebrating the great national day, as we are existing in The Times out of Joint (as Shakespeare puts it,) and not the age of chivalry and it's great to make and follow the resolution of serving the Nation with creative impulses, the attempts of peace to restore prosperity by working constructively. The poem is well-composed and well-structured for the theme, words and syllables.

A nice dedication. It seems that this poem is unique in the sense it is charged with double meaning.Keep penning.
