You are welcome! I imagine some are glad I write less! ! ! ! I know some of my poems are throw-aways- - some are to provoke laughter in those who read and that is a good thing to do with some poetry- -but I do desire to write worthy of contemplation poetry. Thank you for wishing me well, Soran

Exactly, Soran. It is hard enough to be wise in our handling of our children and produce a well-balanced, caring, and honest. It is almost impossible if we parents do not prioritize our children in all things. Yes, Soran, we the country will reap what we as the country sowed in our ads, in our songs, in our movies, in our games, in our speech, in our attitudes and behaviors considering drink, drugs, , work, purpose. Oh, I could go on and on

Thank you for highlighting this line- I felt it carried the rage I feel when parents don't parent their children but abuse them or lose them to the evil people in this world. Thank you, Soran, for the 10 and for faving this. I really appreciate the attention given to this one!

Here Susan Williams' children can be referred to the actions of different people, as it is not the material child, but rather a version of our believe, thinking and our way of life, our relationship with others, and the hidden side of our characters. According to this correct logic, we will harvest what we planted

Great poem, Susan. Makes me think of whatever happened to Octavian and liberi. So many people see children as commodities. When such people talk about the future, I fear they're thinking about how these 'commodities' are meant to be refined and exploited. A great poem and a perfect 10.

Our children are the funeral pyre of our ego.For our greed and pleasure we are ruining our world for our children. A very empathetic poem. A wake call and warning for us.

I have to agree Children's real needs for parents time are often ignored compared to their materiaistic needs. I hope parents demand more family leaves and free time from businesses to raise kids. Most old societies gave mothers of new born ample time to be with their children. Here it is just two wees for most mothers. And our ceos get bonuses on expense of children's welfare. We have to reign our egoes and ambitions for the sake of children. a very good write Susan.

among others, i did not understand this line: " our children are the scraps of their upbringing" i'm glad you left your illness behind you. i read your 1-27 response to Bharati. i'm not sure what a " just child" is, but i agree raising 'moral' kids is important, as long as the morals are the SAME as mine! ! ! fancy cell phones and games (video?) can still allow for a healthy, happy, loving upbringing.... i hope! bri :)

FROM UNKNOWN READER: : : : Our children need deliverance out of the house of our self-bondage We bind ourselves into spaces of meaninglessness Into states of feigned enjoyment.... We conform to be acceptable and with it We tolerate nonsense and rubbish and say its for the sake of our children Thus we click the padlock shut on the prison...the prison we fashioned for them. Our children need for us to find Love and lead them to Him! ! ! ! ! Thanks for a wonderful poem poetess.

Yes, society as a whole is responsible for children's behaviour. Our Goverment and society should see that children get care, love, education, proper nutrition , medical attention as well as guidance because children are our future.Very often we don't realise how our own behaviour impacts a child. Thank you Susan Williams for a great poem.Nice to see your post after a long time.

As I said to Glen, Most parents try their best but they've become sucked into this society's emphasis on, status symbols, fancy phones that drainb their pocket books to the point where we are losing the parental object of raising morally alive children in a happy home which may mean a parent stays home and raises children instead of earning money for status symbol lives

Hey, Susan! Hoping this finds you well and thriving. On this poem, struggling with the darkness when you wrote it? It is partially true. But when children are loved and affirmed, that goes with them too. And when the children become parents themselves, their parents’ failings are put into perspective—and this is a comfort for the parents to see. The fact is that while children are learning to grow up, the parents are learning to parent. I’m speaking, you realize, about healthy families. -Glen

Absorbing and reflective, for as long as I have been around, great people have always enunciated the importance of children and the future, but what good are children if the future we make with our present steps are head to disaster. There is also a subset of people, small, who see children as accessories of their lives, something to claim trophy to, that's when we are their pallbearers.

I thank you for going deep inside the topic of this poem because why else do we write except to exchange ideas and try to awaken consciences? Thank you so very much for being awakened already and already involved in this change
